01What

Nose and tail exactly the same

The equal double deck: the spin trick works no matter which way the board turned. The equipment stopped limiting the skater.

02Why

It was the first problem the brand solved

LongHill was born in 2009, in Brasília, as a skate crew — longboard downhill slide. And, like every good skate story, it began with a problem: in competition, there was no deck that worked.

So the crew made their own. The first equal double deck longboards.

That brought an unexpected consequence: offcuts of wood far too good to become rubbish, and broken decks carrying marks of asphalt, paint and history. From there came the eyewear. Then the watches. Then a guitar — because wood knows how to make noise too.

It is this wood — and only this wood — that becomes the deck series of the other two lines. The rest of the catalogue comes from selected hardwood, and LongHill does not call one thing the other.

04How

Press, cut, engrave

Sheets pressed in the workshop, cut on the CNC and finished by hand. When a series comes out, it is small on purpose.

The wood
Sheets of ivory wood or maple, pressed in a mould of our own.
The shape
Equal double deck — nose and tail exactly the same — and whatever shapes the series calls for.
The artwork
There is no recipe. Depending on the series, the moment and who is drawing, the artwork comes out on its own — each series brings its own lightness. None repeats.

Dimensions, number of plies, type of press and price — to be set with the next series.

05And then

And one day the wood became sound

It was not the plan. It never is. From the deck came the eyewear, from the eyewear came the watches — and at some point there was wood far too good to become just one more piece.

It became a guitar. One, made from a LongHill deck — one of ours, pressed here. Same bench, same hands, same stubbornness about not throwing wood away.

The next product? Life will choose.
